“Swamphatched Butterfly Productions all began when our founder and Executive Producer, Denise Stewart, decided to self-produce her one-woman show: Dirty Barbie & Other Girlhood Tales. From there, the floodgates opened and the waters of creativity rushed from project to project, and gig to gig. Click below to find out more about what SHB has been up to over the years!”
“We make film and theatre productions. Then we make stuff for you to proclaim that you saw what we made. Every item purchased through our shop tells us you support our work, and lets us keep creating! Trust us: a tee shirt is a great conversation starter.”
“If you are involved with training, marketing, or getting in touch with potential clients at your place of work, you may at a point think something along the lines of “I wish we could just show them a video to relay all the information they need to know.” Then after you make your wish you realize you would need a team of people to gather the info, write the script, organize the cast and crew, and direct the thing. Then a genie shows up and tells you he isn’t the man for the job, but he puts you in touch with us!
Swamphatched Butterfly Productions works with independently established businesses to plan, write, organize, direct, and produce films for in-house use. These may be films to show employees: such as short training films, crafted to be timeless so they can be shown for years. These may be films to show clients: such as videos that summarize what you business does or inform clients about your mission. For your in-house film we can do any/all combination of the writing, directing, and producing. We will coordinate with you and your business to clarify purpose and desired content, distill the information to write a script, organize cast and crew, plan a shoot schedule, and direct the project.”
“Drew took an innate interest in the construction of media while at the University of Virginia; so much so that he decided to major and consequently graduate with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Studies. His specific start with editing came with his involvement in the Cinematography program at UVA, where he was able to edit his own films. Shortly after graduating, he became a professional freelance editor with clients like: actors, indie filmmakers, and the RFD TV / Amazon reality television series Corn Warriors.”
“Drew graduated from the University of Virginia in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies. At UVA he was a Miller Arts Scholar from August 2017 to May 2019; a group in which he was able to cultivate his artistic interests. He trained at Terry Knickerbocker Acting Studio Summer Intensive in 2018. During Drew’s fall semester in 2018, he attended an elite Shakespeare acting program comprised of 320 hours of training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
After graduation he officially joined the film industry on projects with Blumhouse, Showtime, and Amazon working both on set and as a Video Editor in post-production. After spending most of his life in Virginia, Drew is currently based in New York City.
With his education, upbringing, and professional experience: Drew is looking forward to continuing to work hard and love his work.”
